Job Summary:

The Regional Quality Manager will provide leadership and direction to multiple plants regarding quality performance.   Additionally, this role will assist in the operations of these plants and in leadership of divisional quality group. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Ability to travel 85% or higher at times as work requires
  • Degree in Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing related discipline preferred
  • 5 years' experience in Quality positions, and 10 years at manager level or above.
  • Experience in other functional areas of plants desirable (Tooling, Maintenance, Engineering, Production)
  • Experience in welding/ stamping preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills Fluent in English
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with little supervision or direction
  • Understanding of customer portals (GM, Ford, FCA, others)
  • Understanding of IATF
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • High level of time management
  • Ability to lead a large team

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage quality groups at multiple plants
  • Evaluate structure and people at each site to determine most efficient use of resources
  • Ensure that all persons are trained and developed to succeed in their roles
  • Facilitate the development of an effective work plan for each department that cascades to all persons. Directly support the corporate work plans.
  • Ensure that corporate performance management tools are taught to all persons and applied correctly
  • Develop succession plans for managers under area of responsibility
  • Investigate, be involved, and understand morale of plants in area of responsibility. Take action to correct low morale and escalate issues to management of plants and division.
  • Recruit and/or assist in the recruitment of new personnel
  • Ensure the monitoring, tracking, and countermeasure of all plant KPI's by managers
  • Communicate regularly with plants and corporate team on key issues
  • Travel to plants and other company locations regularly to have personal knowledge and involvement of processes
  • Ensure the planning and execution of new model programs at plants related to quality performance

 

Working Conditions: 

  • 40% office, 60% plant floor (PPE required).

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Frequent travel
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Overtime as required

 

Health and Safety Responsibilities: 

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
