Job Summary: Working in a plant environment, responsible for scheduling of press shop. Lead production related meetings and improvements as well as leading the QDC initiative.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5-10 year manufacturing/materials experience
  • Experience with Purchasing/Press Operations 
  • Customer Services Oriented
  • Strong Leadership
  • Coach & Counseling oriented
  • Computer Literate
  • Excellent communication required


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure employees are performing their duties to the standards and guidelines as dictated by plant leadership
  • Reinforce compliance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures
  • Supervise production supervisors focus press shop
  • Ensures Non-Production and Production parts meet our requirements and provide then on time to production
  • Ensure weekly sales forecast is met every Friday
  • Attendance to the monthly management meetings
  • Provide support to the production areas organizing inventory and keeping parts on stock at all times
  • Ensure material handlers provide part shortages information to master schedule on time
  • Ensure Raw material inventory is identified and assigned by areas
  • Assist in submitting Performance Appraisal for all personnel
  • Support the Safety Committee at all times
  • Ensure proper usage of equipment as fork lift trucks
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the outside areas around the plant (yard)
  • Must understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.
  • Participate in monthly employee meetings, safety talks
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Conduct employee training
  • Knowledge and in constant review of Customer Specific Requirement as applicable
  • Correct substandard acts or conditions
  • Knowledgeable and in constant review of Customer Specific Requirement as applicable
  • Perform employee safety observations
  • Compliance with sections 25 & 26 of the OHSA
  • All other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, management, corporate and customers.
  • Use of computer and phone
  • Overtime as required
  • Travel as required
  • Steel toe safety shoes, Safety glasses and Hearing Protection as required



Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
