Job Summary: Provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance Department, ensuring that safety, production, quality and quantity standards are maintained.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Millwright or electrical certification and ten years of related experience/training with three of those being in a leadership position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent time management, leadership, organization, communication, technical, decision making, and problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Must be able to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and adjust/adapt to changes in schedule or requirements
  • High level of proficiency with the English language
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct supervision to the Maintenance team
  • Oversee maintenance related functions
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime
  • Analyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problems
  • Maintain maintenance related records
  • Coordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs to source the most effective repairs at the most efficient cost
  • Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Maintenance department (labor, overtime, equipment, travel, etc.)
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory, and operational expense
  • Create and maintain PM program/schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needs
  • Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime
  • Provide input and ensure completion of CI projects
  • Create and ensure a safe and secure work environment
  • Conduct maintenance personnel performance appraisals and issues employee coaching/disciplines
  • Ensures pre-use inspections are conducted and makes sure that all areas are tidy and organized
  • Ensures plant security
  • Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the General Manager
  • Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the General Manager
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Work Environment:

  • 20% Office Environment, 80% Plant Floor (PPE Required)
