Job Summary: Provide oversight in the Project Management process. Provide corporate support in launching projects involving tooling, welding equipment, integration, facility, launches, and financial target setting. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Education (Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma) in the one of the following:
    • Engineering
    • Manufacturing (Tooling)
    • Business / Project Management
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing/automotive project management
  • 3 years program management experience; P.Eng or P.M.P. designation preferred
  • Strong communicator, both written and oral
  • Thorough understanding of MS Project, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint) and CAD software

 

Critical Success Factors:

  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish, or English and German). Please indicate on your resume if you are bilingual¬†
  • Ability to interact with the Facility Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performance
  • A complete hands on approach is required to assist the plant in developing into a successful and profitable division of Martinrea, a multi-billion dollar company
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leader
  • Ability to manage and direct subordinates on the day-to-day tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to mentor and guide subordinates to achieve overall departmental goals and objectives
  • Respecting and understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationship
  • Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses
  • Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide task and technical leadership to the facility during the project lifecycle
  • Document and monitor all project goals and milestones
  • Ensure (and assist with):
  • Project initiation including definition of project scope, risk assessment, business case development, and project team assignments as required.
  • Project planning including financial planning, resource planning, quality planning, communication planning, request for proposals (RFP) planning, and risk planning as required.
  • Project execution including project timing and tracking, cost management, tracking of deliverables, change management, and risk management as required.
  • Project monitoring and control including status reports, communication meetings, and scope maintenance as required.
  • Project closure including lessons learned reports and post implementation reviews as required.
  • Customer support on an as needed basis
  • Follow up all facets of the project from cell layout, launch and run at rate
  • Assessment and implementation of continuous improvement projects in relation to current or future project planning are followed through
  • Ensure Lean Process project Management
  • Facility abides by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook

 

Working Conditions

  • Plant Floor 50%
  • Office 50%

 

Effort/Physical Demands

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
