The Senior Corporate Controls Engineer reports to the Corporate Controls Engineer Lead and is responsible to champion the development, design, build and implementation of safe, flexible, lean and highly competitive assembly electrical control systems with the lowest cost solution for the Metallics Business Unit. The successful candidate will be based in northern Mexico region.


Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelors of Engineering or a Technical Diploma Essential (Technologist Classification)
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in manufacturing/automation with machine controls design, robotic controls, and programming
  • Knowledge of the OH&S Act and Regulations, NADCA, CSA and ANSI standards
  • Ability to lead / manage engineers on project teams
  • Ability to function as part of a cross functional project team
  • Strong communicator in English an Spanish languages, both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated¬†leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Catia, UG)

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement control solutions to achieve greatest productivity in integrated cells, relating to the production and quality assurance of parts, information systems and equipment documentation
  • Perform technical engineering activities as part of¬† a project team and/or execute technical tasks in the design, development, implementation, and documentation of process automation/control projects
  • Participate in the development of corporate machine build standards with cross-functional teams
  • Work with vendors to establish control strategies and automation details. Perform work within applicable standards, guidelines, and procedures
  • Participate in the development of new technologies to continually improve machine up time and operability. Support installation, tryout, and debug of tooling and equipment at the assembly plant
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Work Environment:

  • 50% Office environment, 50% Vendor Plant floor (PPE required)

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
