Job Summary: Assist tooling manager in supervising and coordinating activities of tool and die makers.

 

Major Accountabilities:

  • Schedules and supervises Tool & Die Technical Associates;
  • Implements and maintains Tool & Die preventive maintenance program;
  • Works closely with production to improve quality and productivity;
  • Troubleshoots tooling issues, die problems and repairs;
  • Reviews product, tooling and equipment design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications;
  • Coordinates activities with vendors and other internal departments concerning tooling and equipment procurement and modification;
  • Works with customer and quality on resolving design and test problems;
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases;
  • Works with tool shops on issues and run off;
  • Leads and / or participates in continual improvements to existing tooling and equipment methods to reduce cost and improve quality;
  • Project management skills;
  • Problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Computer and spreadsheet proficiency;
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001:2015
  • Knowledge of any applicable customer specific requirements

 

Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Journeyman Tool and Die Certification desired.
  • Forklift license
  • Crane training

 

Work Environment:

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.

  • Multiple demands in a challenging and fast paced- team orientated environment
  • Noisy environment
  • Overtime as required

Health & Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
