Job Summary:

· Responsible for the following, but not limited to, the supervision of lab technicians including the scheduling, training, and tasking of lab staff. The quality lab supervisor will maintain proficiencies in PCDMIS, PolyWorks, and GageTrak, program and/or operate all laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is performed per MRENV requirements.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Calibration and CMM training and experience.

· Proficient with MS Office Suite.

· Core Tools Training (SPC, MSA, APQP)

· Experience with test equipment, blue print reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T).

· CMM and Romer Arm experience.

· Personal qualifications must include a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with people, good grooming and good oral and written communication skills.

· Excellent attendance; "sense of urgency" oriented especially when customer deadlines potentially in jeopardize.

· Task management ensuring timely completion of activities.

· Work with all departments to ensure timely completion of activities.

Responsibilities:

· The supervision of lab technicians including the scheduling, training, and tasking of lab staff.

· Performs all aspects of layout inspections (ballooning prints, measure, transfer data to applicable data sheets, confirm any measurements out of specification).

· Oversees laboratory tests on products and materials.

· Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of measuring and monitoring equipment in the Laboratory.

· Cleans and maintains Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) in good operating condition.

· Programs CMM using DCC mode,

· Notifies plant management (and Quality Engineers) of dimensional discrepancies.

· Tracks all gages & test equipment via Software (e.g.GageTrak) to ensure all gages remain calibrated.

· Calibrating in-house and coordinating external calibrations.

· Orders gages as needed or requested.

· Ensures production has gages necessary for measurement per control plan and replacement gages when needed.

· Assist in continuous improvement activities and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) activities.

· Tracks variation using MSA for certain characteristics requiring CMM/Scanning measurement.

· Maintain all necessary quality records.

· Responsible for notifying the Quality Manager of any changes needed to lab related documentation, (i.e. Lab Scope, Calibration Instructions, etc.)

· Comply and conform to all applicable BMS documentation to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, 9001 and IATF 16949 and Customer Specific Requirements.

· Assist in continuous improvement projects.
