Job Summary:

As a Purchasing Sourcing Specialist, you will be part of the Purchasing team responsible for creating and implementing a sourcing strategy with the Purchasing Manager. You will help to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers and assist in building a plan that focuses on obtaining competitive pricing and identifying and executing cost reduction strategies. This role is 80% tactical (issuing POs, formatting RFQ's, and compiling data, etc.) and 20% strategic (analyzing data and compiling business cases)

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to learn to read and understand technical drawings, including tool drawings, die designs, die process sheets
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
  • High level of time management, analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills / Excellent customer service skills

  • Communicates with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, availability and delivery;
  • Develop Best in Class Systems, Reports and People, Improve plant profitability, Reduce Risk
  • Follows protocol within IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements and Martinrea Purchasing Policies and Procedures;
  • Escalates issues from suppliers to SCO Manager and the corporate team if necessary;
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with supplier for resolution;
  • Work with under-performing suppliers to improve, or locate alternate supplier with Buyer and/or Materials Manager;
  • Prepares purchase orders and quote requests and responsible to ensure the correct documentation is supplied to all vendors such as terms and conditions and other related documentation;
  • Participate in any new programs or projects associated with the MRO plant products;
  • Abide by all company policies including, but not limited to the following; Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, Martinrea Employee Handbook, and Martinrea Purchasing Policies and Procedures;
  • Maintains a supplier rating system continuously evaluating supplier's delivery and quality performance
  • Ensures purchasing department maintains procurement records such as copies of quote packages and related quotes and evidence of negotiation according to P&P.
  • Utilize the Quickbase system, to ensure all relevant PO requisition information is entered and to establish sequence of priority.
  • Be able to provide feedback to Program Managers on PO status and obtain any additional information when the requisitions aren't clear on what is to be procured.
  • Track Martinrea Standard Payment Terms
  • Track OEM Minority Sourcing objectives
