Job Summary: As a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the analyst will be responsible for preparing, analyzing and presenting budgets and forecasts to upper management. In addition, the analyst will be expected to review monthly financial information, summarizing risks and opportunities and assessing the overall reasonableness of results

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or economics
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • Highly competent in the use of the MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio)
  • VBA programming is an asset
  • Self-confidence, critical thinking, ability to influence, ability to work independently and willingness to work extended hours (if necessary)
  • High level of time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Essential Functions:

  • Compile, review and present company forecast to management
  • Compare monthly budgets and forecasts with actual results
  • Analyze results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions
  • Audit & review monthly financial information to ensure reasonability
  • Review and summarize capital requests, including assessing the overall business case of capital purchases
  • Analyze opportunities and build models to support business decisions
  • Plan, coordinate and execute various ad hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in development of key strategy and operational decision making
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Work Environment:

  • 90% office, 10% travel

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
