Job Summary: This role's primary responsibilities are supporting manufacturing IT systems, creating and maintain the MRP knowledge base, and helping plant staff (IT, Accounting, and Production) in the effective and efficient use of MRP/ERP systems by providing direct systems support and project management for system change requests and new technology implementations (inclusive of conversions and configuration).


Required Qualifications:

  • University education (undergraduate degree at minimum, graduate degree preferred) in computer science and/or business administration.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of OEM (manufacturing) MRP/ERP system build, implementation, and support experience
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of OEM experience with manufacturing accounting and transaction processing systems inclusive of MRP integration with supply chain (EDI) and financial transaction processing technology (Hyperion, SAP).
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of business process analysis, design, and redesign implementation experience using MRP/ERP systems using industry defined best practices.
  • Highly proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).
  • Excellent communication skills (English - written and oral).
  • Excellent time management and work organizational (prioritization) skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to resolve new and unique problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Martinrea Industrial Canada rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by Martinrea Industrial Canada
  • IT project management for manufacturing plant MRP/ERP systems and modules, Active Directory and Networks.
  • IT systems support for manufacturing plant systems and integrated systems (e.g.: web services for supply chain, integration with financial systems).
  • System documentation for users, IT management and configuration.
  • User (technical) support for effective and efficient use of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Process design/redesign for manufacturing processes to ensure consistency with corporate directed system and business processes.
  • Obtain software licensing agreements and monitor software usage for adequate number of users
  • Define, implement, maintain and enforce prescribed security. Establish and administer user log-on and password standards
  • Conduct daily audits of all production related equipment (printers, labellers, connections, etc.) and ensure feedback to and from employees
  • Monitor network performance; identify problems and take corrective actions. Resolves complex problem and malfunctions of all system applications, hardware, and software and provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on user questions
  • Maintain proficiency with hardware technology & new software releases for feature/function and networking alternatives
  • Maintain databases, backup/security features. Analyzes/change performance of database as necessary. Disaster recovery
  • Create custom reports as per user request.
  • Phone Systems (wiring and/or VoIP)
  • Security system installation and maintenance
  • Installation and Maintenance of Attendance Systems; employee swipe clocks, reception sign-in.
  • Maintain file transfer between computers and machines
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality system
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Must understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.
  • Demonstrate 5S Methodology in your work area

Effort/Physical Demands

  • Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis

Health and Safety Responsibilities
