Job Summary: This role aids the organization by screening, recruiting, and selecting the right candidates for the right jobs, assess trainings needs, conduct trainings and recommend improvements.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Conduct organization wide needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Choose appropriate training methods per case (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development etc.)
  • Strategically partnering with HR Managers to improve productivity and reduce turnover
  • Analyze and propose changes to the overall Recruitment Strategy for the business unit
  • Market available training opportunities to employees and provide necessary information
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
  • Source candidates for all office and plant-floor positions to support our operations through different sources such as Martinrea job board, social networking and direct recruiting
  • Screen resumes and/or phone interview to pre-qualify candidates based on job description and hiring criteria
  • Select and contact qualified candidates for in-person interview with departmental Supervisors/ Managers, and HR Manager.
  • Sort and maintain resumes bank as current as possible and actively source for potential candidates for immediate and future needs
  • Conduct periodic audit for on the job training for all new hires and employees being moved to different departments due to position change and/or promotions
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training
  • Contribute to continuous improvement process, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook


  • Completion of/or in process of obtaining Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management with emphasis in recruitment, training or education
  • Minimum of 2 years of recruiting for technical and non-technical positions within a manufacturing environment
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong Coordination and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Human Resource best practices, Human Rights Code and applicable law

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
