Job Summary: Provide support to Weld Assembly department by performing utility tasks.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent analytic and communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must have a good knowledge of the English language
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949
Essential Functions:
- Enforces all PPE and other safety requirements, such as Good to Go sheets, and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
- Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the TS16949 and ISO 14001 Operating Manuals as they relate to the job function.
- Assures that all BOS and other quality requirements are met and recorded properly.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Ensures continuous efficiency of production by covering in absence of team members, labeling of finished goods, stocking of production materials and other duties as assigned by Weld/Assy supervisor
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists operators in solving work problems.
- Escalates Safety, Quality and Productivity issues to applicable department and Weld/Assy Supervisor.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to production supervisor.
- Evaluates training needs and completes training and employee evaluations with production supervisor as required. Provides input to training status on training matrix.
- Assigns operators to manufacturing positions and assures that operators are properly trained for the weld operation using the training matrix.
- Coordinates changeovers with all materials, tooling and manpower required is available to ensure a quality and efficient changeover, and supports as needed.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Requisitions required materials through Production Supervisor
- Coordinates team activities with activities of other departments.
- Sustains clean and safe working areas through implementation of 5S activities.
- Inform proper departments of any problems, such as tool repair for tooling and maintenance for equipment.
- Perform special projects and assignments at the request of the Weld/Assy Supervisor
- Communicates with opposing shifts (will require time outside of normal shift)
