Job Summary: Oversee Supermarket to ensure appropriate training of Operators, completion of documentation, and ensure output

 

Knowledge and Skills (Education):

  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to train
  • 3-5 years experience in similar environment, experience in leading a team
  • Forklift certification
  • Ability to work independently and draw from experience with minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of Shipping and Quality standards

 

Major Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to assign/ delegate tasks Supermarket Operators and Tugger Operators
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure that all appropriate documentation is being completed correctly; Quality alerts, product identification, Operator Instructions, Packaging instructions etc.
  • Monitor production output of operators, inform Supervisor of any potential problems related to equipment and processes to minimize unnecessary downtime.
  • To ensure that all equipment and tools are maintained properly so there is no interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime
  • Analyze machine downtime to identify and provide resolutions on all mechanical problems as required
  • Minimize costs of operating through proper planning and efficient use of all available resources
  • To ensure 5S standards are maintained at all times and followed by department
  • Assume leadership responsibilities for key Kaizen and production improvements; champion within area of responsibility; use of Lean tools
  • Identify,record and report quality nonconformance's and escalate to Area Leader. Prevent further processing, assembly or delivery of non-conforming product
  • Schedule and conduct Teamboard Meetings with hourly employees on a daily basis
  • Ensure that raw materials and products are dispersed or consumed based on FIFO and customer requirements
  • Communicates and is responsible for overall shift and departmental performance; demonstrates using visual management tools
  • Able to navigate through CMS independently and accurately
  • Monitor and ensure Just- in- Time is followed; able to plan for 'Ahead or Behind' schedule
  • Ensure the safe operation of all equipment by your direct reports and oneself; abide by safety training and regulations.
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)-(d), (2) (a)-(c)).

 

Working Conditions:

  • 99% plant floor (PPE required) 1% office
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention to surroundings

  • Recommendations:
    • Discipline for employee
    • Performance appraisals support
    • Improvements for production output, safety and quality
  • Quantitative Measurables:
    • Oversee approximately 1 forklift driver, 3 Tugger Ops and 7 Supermarket Ops
