Required Qualifications:

  • University and/or College diploma with a minimum 3 years of hands-on Supervisory/managerial experience in a related field
  • Good working knowledge of assembly, stamping and welding operations
  • Excellent English Communication Skills (oral and written)
  • Good knowledge of computer skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights code and WSIB regulations

  • Managing production operations with shift supervisors in Bay 1, Bay 2, Bay 3 and the Assistant Area Manager for CD4 front & Rear reporting into him
  • Lead the production team, ensuring that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times
  • Ensure all assembly personnel are following the Quality System and conform to quality standards
  • Ensure all first off, in process and last off procedures are being followed at all times
  • Ensure assigned LPA is performed as per schedule.   Follow up to close out all outstanding issues within a reasonable time frame, discipline Team if their LPA is not complete to schedule
  • Responsible to train all personnel within the assembly department to meet company's target on productivity, efficiency and Safety.  To manage within the scheduled financial budget
  • Oversee and maintain inventory levels of parts produced to meet scheduled production and financial targets and ensuring no short shipment due to production inefficiency within your control
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure no unnecessary interruption of production requirements due to equipment failure, shortage of stampings and/or components based on our hotlist requirements
  • To train, develop, mentor, direct and discipline subordinates to ensure a productive, efficient and competent workforce to meet scheduled requirements in a safe environment
  • Monitor production team and ensure safe operation of equipments to avoid injuries and accidents, make recommendation on safety improvements via hazard assessment of equipments and people as needed
  • Provide regular constructive feedback and communication to subordinates formally and informally on company policies, work procedures and work standards etc. and to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures at all times
  • To make recommendation to Senior Management and Human Resources Manager on the confirmation and/or disposition of employees within the probationary period
  • Responsible for ensuring all training within the department is completed in a timely manner, documented and posted at each work station.   Perform regular audit to ensure compliance
  • Provide management reports and documentation of key measurable as required including daily updates of Angel Board
  • Maintain a system of communicating ongoing departmental performance to subordinates on a regular basis
  • Ensure good housekeeping for the department and that all areas responsible are tidy and organized at all times via the 5S process
  • Ensure subordinates follow Company policies on Health, Safety & Environment and PPE requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspect of the job and to encourage all subordinates to do the same
