Job Summary:

 This role provides leadership and direction to the all production departments to ensure all requirements of production are met.

 Required Qualifications:

      • Post Secondary Diploma preferred in the following:
        • Business Administration
        • Production/Materials Management
      • 2- 3 years experience at Management level
      • Specializing in metal fabrication / manufacturing
      • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
      • High level of time management and ability to lead a team
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.); knowledge of CMS an asset
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

  • Desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor, and participating in production meetings

  1. Responsible for managing Production and Shipping/Receiving, to ensure the appropriate training, coaching and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
  2. Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Production departments (e.g. labour, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).
  3. Champion of Production related Continuous Improvements; provide input and ensure completion of CI project
  4. Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the General Manager
  5. Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense
  6. Ensure updated assessments are conducted on production capacity
  7. Oversees and ensures proper planning and scheduling programs are implemented and monitored to meet sales forecasts through the balance of manpower and machine requirements.
  8. Monitors current status of customer releases and shipments and communicates potential shortages to General Manager. 
  9. Prepares Management reports on the status of departmental efficiencies
  10. Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
