Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CMM Programming and/or Quality Assurance.

 

Critical Success Factors:

  • Must be capable of advanced use of PC-DMIS CMM software programs.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge.
  • Knowledge of CAD programs and environments.
  • Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Experience in personal computer software such as Windows and Microsoft Office.  Knowledge of CAMIO software platforms
  • Blueprint reading
  • Strong mathematical knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of various measuring equipment (ie: vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Independent decision making.
  • STRONG attention to detail.

  • Ability to work professionally with other departments.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance beneficial.
  • Knowledge in Twin Column Configuration a plus.

Responsibilities:

 

  • To set up, operate and write program for the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Plan and conduct day to day production assembly and press shop inspection operations.
  • Prepare dimensional reports for PPAP and prototype submissions accurately and on a timely manner as required.
  • Serve as liaison between customer and plant for EC changes and implementation.
  • To perform accurate calibration of all fixtures and keep records of them.
  • To create and modify CMM inspection programs for precision machined components, assemblies and tooling.
  • To operate other gauges and devices such as Height gauge, etc...
  • Ensure all parts being measured are identified in a complete and correct fashion and all data are kept up to date as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Promptly and accurately addresses the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Overhead large crane (5 ton) operation.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and implement customer request, standards and requirements.
  • Ability to identify, review, inspect and order all tools and measuring devices.
  • Ensure responsible areas are clean and hazard free at all times.
  • Follow company policies on Health, Safety, Environmental and PPE requirements.
  • Regular production checks and ensuring all data and reporting are timely and accurate.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspect of the job.
  • Keeps supervisor and other team members informed of progress, issues and/or concerns.
  • Promotes and maintains a positive team environment.
  • Work with other team members, supervisors and/or members of management to resolve departmental or company-wide issues and to implement new programs, procedures or policies.

  • Approximately 10% on the plant floor and 90% in laboratory.

 

Effort/Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout 800,000 square foot facility.
  • Frequent crouching, stooping, kneeling
  • Ability to see small writing up close.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly lift or move up to 35 lbs. And occasionally 60 to 100 lbs with assistance.

 

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Complete and abide by Martinrea's Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure training and compliance of all company Health and Safety training and OSHA regulations.
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in the form of long sleeve shirts/pants, ear plugs and safety glasses and any additional PPE that may be required for a specific task.
