Job Summary:

Responsible for the purchase of Tooling and Capital as well as issues related to the purchase such as compliance with Policies and Procedures, legal obligations and import/export requirements and duties.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in the following:
    • Engineering
    • Business Administration
    • Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in buying Stamping and Roll Forming-related Tooling and Capital, in the automotive market
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings, including tool drawings, die designs, die process sheets
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Experience with Catia, FASTBLANK, etc.
  • Experience supporting CAPEX requests and approvals
  • High level of time management, analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills and ability to work independently

  • Responsible for the purchase of Tooling and Capital for our Metallic Stamping Business Unit, inclusive of check fixtures, dies, integrated equipment lines, robots, ovens, etc. Also responsible to manage issues related to the purchase such as compliance within Corporate Commercial protocol of TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements and Martinrea Purchasing Policies and Procedures, legal obligations and import/export requirements and duties.
  • Communicates with multiple suppliers via the RFQ process to obtain pricing, availability and delivery at or below budget expectations, respecting and mirroring the requirements of our Customer's contract
  • Assembles detailed price and cost analysis to support sourcing decisions
  • Support the CAPEX request and approval process
  • Negotiates terms of contract, in adherence with Martinrea Policies and Procedures and in conjunction with Martinrea's Legal team
  • Leads Technical and Commercial Design Competitions with cross-functional teams
  • Leads commercial management of Supplier post sourcing kick-off, ensuring adherence to the contract
  • Attends and supports periodic management review meetings
  • Provide continual assessment of the business climate, market conditions, monitoring supply risk, supplier health and develop countermeasures
  • Manage preferred Supplier database in conjunction with Technical Group and lead the development of Commodity and Supplier Strategies with cross-functional participation
  • Develops strategies which maximize global synergies, reduce overall capital costs and material costs and improve throughput, quality and delivery performance.
  • Support negotiation of MRO products, consumables and other wear items associated with the Tooling and Equipment we use
  • Support Program Management and the Technical Group with the development and advancement of our Technical Specifications. Ensure Suppliers are capable to meet or exceed those requirements.
  • Enforces 100% on-time delivery requirements, 100% on-time / on-budget launches
  • Maintain a positive contribution to quality, customer satisfaction and company profitability
  • Represent the Company in an ethical manner, being firm, fair and professional at all times
  • Maintains supplier rating system continuously evaluating supplier's delivery and quality performance
  • Supports as required our plants for prototypes and trials supporting new programs
  • Leads and participates in achieving 3-5% net YOY continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Maintains procurement records such as copies of quotes, delivery records, approves invoices for payment
  • Periodically visits suppliers to improve relations and assess their facilities in the areas of quality, financial stability and continuous improvement
  • Mentor other personnel in the department and assist in their development
  • Initiate projects / reports that contribute to continuous improvement or profit opportunities
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, Martinrea Employee Handbook and Martinrea Purchasing Policies and Procedures
