Job Summary:
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager.  Communicate and Administer policies and procedures to all levels within the Plant. Maintain the accuracy of the HRIS systems accurately. Recruit for all open positions within the Plant.

Knowledge and Skills:

    • Completion of/or in process of obtaining degree in Human Resources Management (or related)
    • Minimum of 1-3 years experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
    • Knowledge of HR best practices
    • Experience with ADP, Kronos, and Success Factors a plus
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

 


Major Responsibilities:
1.Assist with the maintenance of the Company's Performance Management systems; Performance Appraisal process, Progressive Discipline process and Performance Improvement Plan
2.Manage the temporary worker population
3.Coordinate the Martinrea Orientation Model for all temporary and full-time employees. Complete the necessary administration to ensure they are entered into the HR systems accordingly
4.Ensure all systems requirements are being met.

5.Tracking all company training - update employee/department training records in HR systems, update employee files and follow up where necessary
6.Assist employees with payroll and benefit questions and submission of forms
7.Conduct new hire and benefit orientations for employees
8.Coordinate unemployment documentation for claims handling
9.Respond to employment verifications and process garnishments
10.Plan and organize company sponsored events and activities
11.Assist employees with concerns and answer questions on the Martinrea Employee Handbook and other HR related questions
12.Maintain employee files and communication boards by keeping communication boards current and ensuring employee files are in compliance, organized and up-to-date
13.Assist HR Manager with recruitment tasks; job description creation, sorting resumes, job postings and interviewing
14.Provide backup to HR Manager during absence by providing support to employees, Supervisors and Managers where possible
15.Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to, the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
16.Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, codes, and standards

Working Conditions:
•80% Office environment, 20% Plant floor (PPE required)
•Constant communication with employees, peers, and management


Effort/Physical Demands:
•Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
•Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis

Back-up Duties:
•Perform other duties as required
