Job Summary:

 Corporate Purchasing & Materials Manager is responsible to:

  1. Set the standards and kpi's for Purchasing Operations in the plants
  2. Roll-out and train the standards and kpi's (including on-going training as required)
  3. Track, monitor & measure performance to kpi's and standards
  4. Continuously improve kpi's
  5. Build strong Purchasing teams in the plants

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in the Business Administration / Supply Chain Management Field
  • 10-15 years of direct Automotive Experience in Purchasing in a manufacturing setting
  • 5+ years' Experience with Fluids delivery systems is highly desirable
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings, including tool drawings, die designs, die process sheets
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Experience supporting CAPEX requests and approvals
  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Strong Negotiation and inter-personal skills, management skills, demonstrated experience leading a team

  • Oversee the Purchasing functions across all Martinrea Fluids Group facilities
  • Establish, track, monitor and drive results for KPI's, Corporate Standards, Policies and Procedures such as:
  • Responsible for direct and indirect purchases for our global Aluminum Business Unit, inclusive of raw materials, purchased components, outside services, MRO, plant services and Tooling & Capital.
  • Exceeds annual cost reduction targets
  • Leads all facets of sourcing for large global programs affecting multiple Martinrea plants
  • Assembles detailed price and cost analysis to support sourcing decisions
  • Support the CAPEX request and approval process
  • Negotiates terms of contract, adhering to Martinrea Policies and Procedures in conjunction with Legal
  • Leads Technical and Commercial Design Competitions with cross-functional teams
  • Leads commercial management of Suppliers, ensuring adherence to the contract and obtaining technical and commercial improvements to exceed the Corporate objectives
  • Ensure all quoting activity includes multiple suppliers in the RFQ process to obtain pricing, availability and delivery at or below budget expectations, mirroring the requirements of our Customer's contract
  • Provide continual assessment of the business climate, market conditions, monitoring supply risk, supplier health and develop countermeasures
  • Co-Manage Key Suppliers
  • Lead the development of Commodity and Supplier Strategies with cross-functional participation across the Fluids Group, emphasizing opportunities for commercial benefit
  • Develops strategies which maximize global synergies, reduce overall capital costs and material costs and improve throughput, quality and delivery performance.
  • Support Program Management and the Technical Group with the development and advancement of our Technical Specifications. Ensure Suppliers are capable to meet or exceed those requirements.
  • Enforces 100% on-time delivery requirements, 100% on-time / on-budget launches
  • Maintain a positive contribution to quality, customer satisfaction and company profitability
  • Represent the Company in an ethical manner, being firm, fair and professional at all times
  • Maintains supplier rating system continuously evaluating supplier's delivery and quality performance
  • Periodically visits suppliers to improve relations and assess their facilities in the areas of quality, financial stability and continuous improvement
  • Identify / develop alternate low cost Suppliers for key components which will help us improve our overall cost, and better position us to win new business
  • Interface with Cost Estimating for feedback on Commodities requiring focus
  • Interface with R&D for assistance on getting new Supplier / products approved
  • Achieve OEM Minority Sourcing objectives
  • Lead Communications between plants through weekly calls and Training Sessions and sharing of best practices
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Maintain robust record tracking including attendance logs and meeting notes on Martinrea's Intranet
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, Martinrea Employee Handbook and Martinrea Purchasing/Materials P&P
