  • Job Summary:

    • Responsible for planning/ordering material to support production, drive responsive supplier performance, process and service improvements, and productivity improvements throughout the supply chain.

     

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Community College courses in Business/ Materials Management related discipline preferred
    • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
    • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a supply chain-related position in a manufacturing environment 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Courses taken and/or experience in Inventory Control/Management
    • Knowledge of Quality standards IATF 16949

    Essential Functions:

    • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.
    • Using weekly production requirements, coordinate with suppliers for required material
    • Coordinate with Materials Scheduler to ensure proper quantities are in house, shipped, etc.
    • Continuously maintain the schedule by responding to alerts and working to balance demand and supply. 
    • Measure and improve Supply Chain metrics such as order fill, inventory days on hand, and forecast accuracy.
    • Verify materials in CMS, including new part set-up, master data, and material availability. 
    • Manage recovery plans with suppliers and communicate priorities and status to Management 
    • Perform inventory analysis on supplier material and make recommendations on excess, obsolete, or slow-moving items.
    • Participate in the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning process. 
    • Must be capable of setting priorities and making business decisions autonomously. 
    • Review scheduling methods to continuously improve scheduling system to support production requirements
    • Complete all Engineering change related activities (e.g. Bank build, build out, fluctuating supplier orders, etc.)
    • Review inventory level of supplier material to ensure that inventory turns are within the Department goals
    • Participate in internal quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the quality system

     

    Working Conditions

    • 80% office, 20% plant floor (PPE required)

     

    Effort/Physical Demands

    • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
    • Overtime as required

     

    Health and Safety Responsibilities

    • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
    • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company
