Preferred Qualifications:

  • Needs to be knowledgeable on Fanuc Robots
  • Familiar with Programming, Teaching, and Troubleshooting


  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems and provide solutions.
  • Experience in Tier 1 Automotive a plus.
  • Support plant's commitment to both internal and external customer quality.
  • Competency Level 3 includes all advanced understanding of the processes and functions as they relate to the position as determined by the leadership team


  • Create back-ups of robot programs or parameters.
  • Design robotic systems Resistant Spot Welding, Sealing, Material Handling, and Mig Braze.
  • Document robotic application development, maintenance, or changes.
  • Integrate robotics with peripherals, such as welders, controllers, and/or other equipment.
  • Investigate mechanical failures and/or unexpected maintenance problems.
  • Make system device lists and/or event timing charts.
  • Plan mobile robot paths and teach path plans to robots.
  • Process or interpret signals and/or sensor data.
  • Provide technical support for robotic systems.
  • Review or approve designs, calculations, and/or cost estimates.
  • Supervise technologists, technicians, and/or other engineers.
  • Analyze and evaluate robotic systems or prototypes.
  • Debug robotics programs.
  • Install, calibrate, operate, and/or maintain robots.
  • Conduct research on robotic technology to create new robotic systems and/or system capabilities.
  • Build, configure, and test robots.
  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation, and/or performance of robotic mechanisms, components, or systems.
  • Write algorithms and/or programming code for ad hoc robotic applications.
  • Design end-of-arm tooling.
  • Design software to control robotic systems for manufacturing applications.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Over-time may be required and is expected.

Effort/Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairways.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and heights using proper PPE.

  • Complete and abide by Martinrea's Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure training and compliance of all company Health and Safety training and OSHA regulations.
  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in the form of long sleeve shirts/pants, ear plugs and safety glasses and any additional PPE that may be required for a specific task. 
  • Hand and arm protective equipment is required when handling sheet metal.
