Job Title:  EH&S  Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:  Provides administrative and technical support to the Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor on all personnel/ EHS matters.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Industrial Health or related field
  • 12 24 months experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S)

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct facility audits for compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
  • Compile and analyze injury and hazard trending data
  • Facilitate and track environmental, health and safety training
  • Develop environmental, health and safety programs and assist in program implementation
  • Assist with complying with environmental, health and safety standards, regulations
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong Coordination and organizational skills
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • Support and contribute to the Quality Systems and Environmental Systems Requirements
  • Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses
  • Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
  • Competency Level 1 all systems where personnel need to have a basic understanding of the process and interactions as determined by the team.
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Work Environment:

  • 50% office/ 50% Production Floor

Physical Demands:

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
