Job Summary:  Provide leadership and direction to the Purchasing Department in regards to Purchasing and Inventory

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma and Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Purchasing
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders
  • Negotiating Skills
  • Interview and hire staff and oversee training
  • Generate Costs Savings ideas to meet annual goals
  • Manage MRO crib for accuracy, possible inventory reductions, and replenishment
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
  • Resolve vendor and contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
  • Report reports as necessary
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Work Environment:

  •  Office Manufacturing Environment

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
