Job Summary:

Launch Tooling Engineer will review Tooling Concepts and oversee Die Design and Build.


Required Qualifications/ Education Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in engineering OR 5 years of related experience.
  • Tooling experience required.
  • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills with dedication to quality.
  • Knowledge in computer software for Windows, Auto-CAD or CAD equivalent
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and APQP processes

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Preparation of "tooling method plan" packages for quotation of new business proposals on an assigned project.
  • Launch Tooling Engineer will provide Tool follow-up for new programs.
  • Works closely with manufacturing, quality & production tooling group, to ensure die build will meet facilities/ customer's specific needs.
  • Launch Tooling Engineer will maintain tooling progress with vendors, to make sure die delivery is on-time & within budget.
  • Receive, review and disseminate supplier quotation packages.
  • Basic knowledge of materials and specifications for assigned project.
  • Launch Tooling Engineer will have knowledge of assigned manufacturing facilities capabilities and limitations.
  • Work closely with product design and manufacturing to support both the assembly and detail levels.
  • Launch Tooling Engineer will maintain up-to-date:Quote support documentation and current die method plans.
  • Manufacturing concern issues
  • Travel to Martinrea facilities and integrators to support tooling build, buy off and aid in the integration at the manufacturing facility up to and through program launch.
  • Launch Tooling Engineer will execute Material Reduction Initiatives
  • Responsible for development of press set-up documents
  • Other duties as assigned by department manager

  • Must wear all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
